ABOUT ROSSMOOR PREDATOR MANAGEMENT TEAM

The Rossmoor Predator Management Team consists of over 1,560+ Rossmoor Neighbors sharing an email network and website. Rossmoor neighbors, through our team membership, have been able to provide a connection with one another and their community. The RPMT offers information related to:
Coyote Information
Coyote alerts are provided to residents to alert them of coyote activity occurring on residential streets, to provide them with deterrent information to keep coyotes away from homes and to establish statistical information related to the Rossmoor community to governmental entities.
Politically, RPMT is active in attempting to encourage governmental agencies such as the Department of Fish & Game, O.C. Animal Care and governmental entities to establish coyote programs dealing with imprinted (unafraid of humans) coyotes. Information is collected on a monthly basis to create coyote statistics for Rossmoor. These statistics are provided to governmental agencies of the coyote activity within the Rossmoor Community. RPMT also functions as a wildlife education and reporting program. On a monthly basis, RPMT publishes a monthly newsletter. This newsletter entails information regarding coyote biography and discusses how to deter coyotes from residential property. The newsletter also informs neighbors on how to protect children and pets from coyotes.
Crime Information
RPMT provides updating crime alerts of home and auto burglaries to residents which include date, time and location of where the crime has taken place. Information is also given to residents on crime prevention measures.
Dog Squad - Locating Lost Pets
To protect Rossmoor’s pets, RPMT has developed a Dog Squad in force with 24 volunteers who will immediately search for lost pets when they become missing. RPMT is strongly devoted to keeping pets safe. When a pet is lost, RPMT will issue an email with the picture of the pet to residents. Members will be notified via email of the lost or found pet description, pictures, if possible, along with contact information. RPMT is also equipped with its own pet micro-chip scanner so that no delay is taken in returning a lost pet to their owner. The Dog Squad has been extremely successful in returning over 50 pets to their families.
Community Awareness
As a service to the Rossmoor Community, RPMT provides both notification via email, as well as maintaining a website at ROSSMOORPREDATORMANAGEMENTTEAM.COM. Both of these communications are used to inform the Rossmoor and Los Alamitos Communities of social and charity functions occurring in the neighborhood. Every member is invited to use these two forms of communication of current events that residents would be interested in participating. Additionally, RPMT serves to inform Rossmoor residents of activities in the community concerning safety and welfare. It will send out emails when serious crime incidents occur in the neighborhood. It will also detail important crime preventive measures and tips in its monthly newsletter.
